Our Story
Canaan Collection is built on a legacy of family, hospitality, and a deep love for the Canaan Valley. David and Karen Cuppett, both born and raised in Petersburg, West Virginia, began their journey in vacation rentals in 1998 while living in Alexandria, Virginia. Their first purchase—a cozy home in Northface—sparked a passion that soon led to the acquisition of two more properties. In 2005, they designed and built what would become their signature home at 49 Winterset Drive.
Eventually, David and Karen made Canaan Valley their full-time home, dedicating themselves to creating memorable guest experiences and building a highly regarded vacation rental business. In addition to managing their own homes, they also took on the care and management of several other properties in the Timberline community.
Now, my husband Chris and I are proud to carry this legacy forward. We plan to relocate to Canaan Valley permanently in mid-2025. In late 2024, we established Canaan Collection LLC with a clear vision: to expand on this foundation of excellence and continue offering personalized, premier vacation rental experiences in one of West Virginia’s most beautiful destinations.
